A Fresh Take on Design and Technology: The BMW F 750 GS Review

The BMW F 750 GS is instantly recognizable as a proud member of the GS family.

One of the first noticeable changes is the headlight, giving the bike a more dynamic and refined appearance. The biggest design shift on the side is the repositioning of the fuel tank from the rear to the front, optimizing the center of gravity. The rear has been streamlined, with sharper and cleaner lines. Overall, the F 750 GS boasts a muscular yet aesthetically pleasing design.

Beyond its striking looks, the standout feature of the BMW F 750 GS is the vibrant 6.5-inch TFT multifunctional display. The crisp startup animation is a feast for the eyes, but it’s the functionality that truly impresses. The large, clear speed readout, easy-to-read RPMs, and essential details like tire pressure, fuel consumption, fuel level, time, phone battery status, and signal strength are all displayed in an easily digestible format.

With a simple flick of the control wheel on the left handlebar and the accompanying function buttons, riders can access a host of connectivity features without compromising the riding experience. Everything can be handled smoothly with one hand.

Thrilling Start, Confident Ride

As soon as you hop on, you’ll notice a slight forward lean, with handlebars, buttons, footrests, and seat positions all perfectly aligned for an optimal ride. With a seat height of 790mm on the premium model (770mm for the low seat version), the F 750 GS ensures that riders can plant their feet firmly on the ground, enhancing comfort and stability.

When you start the engine, the sound is robust and powerful, setting the mood for an exhilarating ride. First gear engages smoothly, and although the throttle response at the start isn’t overwhelming, the power builds progressively as you accelerate, ready for a confident takeoff.

Closed Track: The Thrill of Speed

On a closed track, the BMW F 750 GS’s innovative engine shines.

With a displacement of 853cc, a maximum power of 57 kW at 7,500 rpm, and a torque of 83 Nm at 6,000 rpm, this engine delivers impressive performance. Thanks to the crankshaft offset by 90° and a 270° firing interval, the F 750 GS offers a unique power delivery that surprises and excites.

In the mid-to-high RPM range, this innovative engine truly comes alive! Before you know it, you’ll find yourself cruising at 120 km/h, then 140 km/h, 160 km/h, and even 185 km/h—each increase in speed putting a grin on your face (always follow traffic laws and avoid speeding!).

At higher speeds, the small windscreen proves its worth. Once you tuck down, airflow glides over your helmet, making the ride smoother and more comfortable.

Don’t worry about vibration either—the BMW F 750 GS greatly reduces vibration compared to its predecessors, the F 700 GS and F 800 GS. The power is strong, and the acceleration is seamless.

Mountain Adventures: Maximum Control and Safety

The BMW F 750 GS comes with four riding modes: Rain, Road, Dynamic, and Enduro, all accessible via the right handlebar mode switch.

For adrenaline seekers, Enduro mode is a true highlight. In this setting, the ABS Pro system allows for maximum rear-wheel function, unlocking a new level of riding excitement.

During a test ride through the mountains, while navigating a tight corner, a rider encountered an obstacle. Even with the bike leaned over, ABS Pro intervened in time, helping the rider avoid the obstacle and pass through safely. BMW continues to impress with its commitment to rider safety.

The F 750 GS’s braking system includes twin 305mm floating discs with two-piston calipers at the front, and a 265mm single disc with a single-piston caliper at the rear. Whether braking at high or low speeds, the stopping power is predictable and reliable. With Automatic Stability Control (ASC), the F 750 GS elevates safety to an even higher level.

Standing Tall: More Fun with Every Ride

The new fuel tank position gives the BMW F 750 GS a more robust appearance and optimizes the riding balance. When standing in the traditional GS style, riders can still comfortably grip the tank with their legs, giving them more control and confidence. The raised riding posture also adds to the bike’s road presence.

BMW’s innovation isn’t limited to what you see—the F 750 GS is packed with hidden advancements, like the titanium ruler tucked inside the front of the bike. This part enhances the stability of the frame, making your ride safer and more enjoyable.

With its innovative engine, advanced electronics, superior safety features, and the latest GS design, the BMW F 750 GS has undoubtedly won over the hearts of many riders.
