Dual-Layer Midsole with Pebax® Propulsion Plate
The Mach X 2 continues to feature a dual-layer midsole, paired with the Pebax® propulsion plate—a defining element of its predecessor. The upper layer consists of HOKA’s responsive PEBA foam, now thicker for a bouncier ride, delivering instant feedback with every step. The lower layer uses soft yet resilient EVA foam, ensuring proper cushioning and shock absorption, with a reinforced EVA overlay at the heel for added stability.
Between these layers lies the flexible Pebax® wing-shaped propulsion plate, which extends towards the forefoot. This new, wider design improves stability during landings, making transitions smoother. Unlike carbon fiber plates used in other premium models like the Cielo X1, the Pebax® plate offers a less aggressive push-off, making it suitable for runners of all levels.
Durable Outsole with Meta-Rocker Geometry
The outsole features a windowed design, reducing weight while allowing a glimpse of the Pebax® plate inside.
