On October 29, at the launch event for the Xiaomi 15 series, Xiaomi Vice President Xu Fei announced that the Xiaomi 15 packs a massive 5400mAh battery into its compact 8.08mm body, an increase of 790mAh compared to the previous generation.
The new Jinsha River battery used in the Xiaomi 15 series boasts an energy density of 850Wh/L, the highest ever for Xiaomi.
With the introduction of the new HyperCore architecture, the battery life is impressive. According to official tests, under simulated heavy usage conditions, the Xiaomi 15 lasted 6.93 hours from a full charge to shutdown, outperforming the iPhone 16 Pro, which lasted only 5.07 hours.
Additionally, the Xiaomi 15 supports 90W wired charging and 50W wireless charging, thanks to the Xiaomi G1 battery management chip, which ensures that the battery retains over 80% of its capacity after 1600 charge cycles. The Xiaomi P3 intelligent fast-charging chip further optimises the charging speed when the screen is on.
Xiaomi also announced the launch of several accessories: a magnetic protective case priced at £9.99, a 30W magnetic wireless charger for £14.99, and a magnetic cooling back clip priced at £19.99.
